Kingcom: Plantae
Phylum: Tracheophyta
Class: Magnoliopsida
Order: Asparagales

It is a monocot because it has a sheath instead of a petiole and stipule. The leaf's margin is entire, the venation is parallel, and the leaf shape is linear. It probably has a tap root and many tiny root hairs, but it could also have a tap root and secondary roots since it was found in a marshy area with loose soil.
